The Brief.

Script & create a hype piece to build excitement, anticipation and engagement ahead of Bauer’s coverage of Scotland’s crucial Euro 2020 Qualification Playoff against Serbia. The promo was to be aired as an audio spot across Bauer’s portfolio of radio brands and as an animated film across branded Bauer social channels.

The Insight.

Scotland’s men’s national side last appeared at a major tournament in 1998. Fans had waited for 22 years, and so many managers and players had come and gone in that time. Generations have missed out on the chance to attend a major tournament, many made plans that were never realised, and this time - the tournament was taking place in our own back yard. Qualify, and we can finally ‘all go together’.

The Work.

We told the story of Scotland’s wait. Using poetic copy and a stripped back cover of ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ recorded in-house, we created an audio spot for use on breakfast shows across all of Bauer’s Scottish radio portfolio - Radio Clyde, Radio Forth, Radio Borders, Tay FM, West FM, Northsound, MFR & Greatest Hits Radio - and an animated social film which reached over 1m views across Bauer’s branded Facebook, Twitter & Instagram pages.
